How to prevent ear infections

Dogs are more prone to the ear infections than humans because of the form of their ear canals. That is the reason why you should give a proper attention to your pet’s ears. The most common infections are bacterial as well as yeast infections. However, you can prevent the ear infections by a regular cleaning and removal of dirt and wax.

The Symptoms are:

  • Dark discharge
  • Unpleasant odor
  • Redness or swelling of the ear canal
  • Pain
  • Constant head shaking
  • Itchiness
  • Scabs in the ears

If you note your dog has any of these symptoms, you must get them to the vet right away. Do not try to clean your dog’s ears on your own if there is any sign of infection since it can be too painful for your pet.

But if your dog’s ears look healthy but just dirty, you should clean them the following way:

  1. Gently guide the Ear Cleaner to the ear
  2. Fill your dog’s ear with the Sanocyn Ear Cleaner Solution by lightly squeezing the bottle.
  3. Gently massage the ear with the whole hand to evenly distribute the Ear Cleaner.
  4. Use a cotton ball or gauze to clean the ear without going in too deep

The Sanocyn Ear Cleaner Solution is perfectly suitable for these issues. It is based on the hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which is very well tolerated by pets and suitable for daily use. Many of the conventional ear cleaners are oil-based and burn when applicated, which is not the case of the Sanocyn. The Ear Cleaner does not contain any alcohol, oil, and is pH-neutral. Thus, it does not sting and burn.
